WHAT IS MEDITATION?

Very often we hear that happiness is inside of us, always available, unconditioned by the circumstances of our lives. But very rarely we hear how to get there and enjoy it in our everyday reality. This is what meditation is all about. As a technique, meditation is a tool to go inside and explore inner landscapes of our own being. Deeper we go, we discover that there is so much more to human potential then we are told and educated to believe. We start to experience bliss, peace, joy, love, relaxation, creativity, playfulness given to us for free, as our birthright, as innate qualities of our nature.

The other meaning of the word meditation is the state of inner silence, the state without thoughts, state of pure witnessing, from where the whole life is experienced as a  beautiful dance of existence.

WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT OSHO ACTIVE MEDITATIONS?

For modern men, it is almost impossible to sit silently without moving, which is the base of many meditation techniques. We are brought up not to be who we are and not to live our truth, but rather to compromise our authentic nature to fit in the society. Therefore,  our body-mind system is full of unexpressed emotions and unlived desires. This creates restlessness and tension. Osho Active Meditations are created specifically for the contemporary men to help him release tension, "clean the house", before going into the meditation.

The first part of 12 different Osho meditation techniques always consists of some body-based activity, such as shaking, dancing or some special body movements from different meditation traditions (Sufism, Tibetan Buddhism, Zen). This helps us to release tensions in our body-minds, but also to awaken our dormant energies. From this space of relaxed aliveness, it is much easier and more enjoyable to enter into the second part of meditation, which is being in silence either sitting, standing or laying down. Active phases help us to be more in our bodies, grounded and full of energy, while silent phases restore peace, serenity, and depth of our being.

All OSHO Active Meditations are accompanied with music specially created for each meditation.
